Infant

Welcome to our

Plymouth Academy

Open-door Policy:

We believe in maintaining an open-door policy for our babies' parents. You're always welcome to visit our classroom, whether it's to check in on your infant or simply say hello. Feel free to stop by or give us a call anytime.

What to Bring:

We suggest bringing at least two full changes of clothing for your infant, including shirts, pants, onesies, socks, etc. Additionally, you may want to provide an extra pacifier, hat, diapers, wipes, bottles, and a blanket for your baby's comfort. Please ensure all items are labeled with your child's name. Sheets, bibs, burp cloths, mobiles, and crib toys are provided by Hopkins Child Care.

Daily Sheets:

Each child will go home with a detailed sheet outlining their day, including nap times, diaper changes, food intake, and bottle feedings. Any notes about needed supplies will also be included on this sheet.

Diapers:

We change infants' diapers at least every two hours, ensuring they stay clean and comfortable throughout the day. Diaper changes include thorough wiping, and ointments are applied as needed or as requested by parents.

Naps:

We understand that growing babies require plenty of sleep. Naps in our Infant room are not strictly scheduled, and we accommodate each baby's individual sleep needs.

Bottles and Food:

All bottles and sippy cups must be labeled with your child's name and may contain only formula, breast milk, milk, or water. We follow the Federal Nutrition Program and provide high-quality, nutritious meals and snacks, including high-iron formula, cereal, meat, fruits, vegetables, and infant-appropriate snacks.

Meals:

Our meal schedule includes breakfast at 8:00 AM, lunch at 12:00 PM, afternoon snack at 3:00 PM, dinner at 5:30 PM, and evening snack at 8:00 PM.

Toddler Program

Welcome to Plymouth Academy, where our toddler room is meticulously designed to offer a nurturing and stimulating environment for your little ones. Here's what you can expect:

Our toddler room can accommodate up to 14 children, supported by 2 dedicated educators. This ensures personalized attention and fosters strong bonds between educators and children.

Recognizing the uniqueness of each child, our schedule is thoughtfully crafted to balance individual needs with group activities. While nap times, meal times, and diapering times are fixed, we offer flexibility during free-play, indoor/outdoor activities, and transitions.

To encourage exploration and engagement, we regularly rotate toys and equipment every three to four weeks. Children have opportunities for child-initiated playtime and optional educator-led activities. Our educators use various strategies, such as playful interactions, songs, stories, and positive reinforcement, to facilitate growth and development.

Our program focuses on age-appropriate goals and skills, including self-help, independence, peer interaction, self-control, and positive problem-solving. We also emphasize health and safety practices and support children in using emerging language to express their needs and emotions.

To foster creativity and engagement, we regularly rotate toys and equipment every three to four weeks. This ensures that children have access to a diverse range of age-appropriate materials during their playtime.

Our curriculum is developed weekly and covers various subjects to promote holistic development. Preschool educators use a variety of strategies, including playful interactions, songs, stories, and positive reinforcement, to encourage growth and learning.

In our younger preschool program, we focus on expanding social skills, fostering independence, and developing problem-solving abilities. We also place a strong emphasis on helping children recognize and express their emotions through activities and age-appropriate curriculum.

For older preschoolers, our program is designed to prepare them for kindergarten and beyond. We concentrate on expanding social skills, improving peer interactions, enhancing attention span and listening skills, fostering independence, and promoting health and safety habits. Our curriculum also emphasizes literacy skills to ensure readiness for formal education.
